Good Times

Our trip to Disney Land was different then I had imagined. In January when we decided to go, all I could think of was California and sun. Well, the sun was definately NOT shining in California while we were there, but we still had a GREAT time. We were prepared with our ponchos and that was a very good thing because the first day we were there we really needed them. It rained for a good four hours straight. But, by dang I paid lots of money to be there and I wasn't about to let the down pour ruin our fun. We toughed through it and the lines weren't bad and we had a really good time. Our kids thought we were driving. We surprised them by pulling into the Salt Lake City Airport. Jaxon kept saying look at all the airplanes. Look how close they are. Wow! Look at that one, then finally he said, "Where are we? Why are you parking the car here?" It was SO SO MUCH FUN!!! I was a little worried when we had to actually go outside to get on our tiny little plane, but we made it.

These are Nicky's (Tyson's sister) kids. They were with us the first day. It was so fun to spend time with them and to watch our kids build cousin memories. It worked out great because I was able to go on rides with Tyson while they sat with Parker and we watched their baby Camden while they went together. I think we should make this a tradition.

We got to see most of the characters. Parker was totally amazed by them. He would just stand there and stare at them with the biggest smile on his face. When he hugged Goofy, I had to seriously pull him off. My favorite is always Minnie. Notice the stocking hats on my boys. They had to wear them almost the entire time.

Jaxon's cousins Ryan and Jack always talk about how they got picked for the Jedi training when they went to Disney Land. Well, this was #1 on Jaxon's list of things to do. The first day, just before the down pour, he tried and didn't get picked and it crushed him, but he was a good sport. I just knew we were going to spend all three days waiting for the next show praying he'd get picked, but luckily, the next time we tried he was lucky enough to get picked. Those of you who don't know Jaxon too well, he is a HUGE HUGE fan of Star Wars. He collects all the little action figures, watches the movies and cartoons every chance he gets and plays any Star Wars games he can. So when he got picked to be in the Jedi training and got to fight this freaky Star Wars guy (Darth Moll???) he was way excited. It was so fun to watch him.

This is a picture of Jaxon on the last day. We were waiting in a line for the Aladin show. He decided to sit down and wait. A minute later I looked down and he had fallen asleep on the ground with his head between my legs. It had been a long, and eventful three days and he did just what I wished I could do at that moment.

I can't wait to go back again. Disney Land really is the most happy place on earth. Parker hasn't stopped talking about it. Yesterday at the doctor, he sat there and told Dr. Gibby all about Disney Land, and how he was brave and how the pirates were really just robots and that he got to see star wars guys and Woody and the mean fish in the water and he was laying on the ground showing him how the sharks swim with their tail and how the snow monster tried to get Jaxon and next time he can go on Splash Mountain and on and on. I can't believe all the details that he can remember. It was definately worth it. I am already ready to go back.
